As a Book Developer, I work primarily with people who yearn to write a book (or some other completed written work) who have never done so before. I use a special approach called Writing from the Deeper Self, which I have used successfully with my clients and myself for over 20 years.

Somewhere inside, you have a book in you.

But then the questions rise up: How do you begin? What do you write about? How do you produce over 200 pages that have something of value in them? How do you write for yourself and your readers at the same time?

And (a question you may not have thought to consciously ask), how can your writing put you in touch with the most true and beautiful place in yourself (no matter what the subject or tone) and thereby bring much-needed healing and beauty to your own life and into the world?

Writing can be a solitary, sometimes challenging pursuit—much more so if you’ve never written a book before. It can feel easy to give up, or even not to begin. Especially if you are a new writer considering writing a book (and even if you have written on your own for years).

Despite the fast pace of website browsing, I invite you to take a breath and take a moment to read what you will find here in a slow, reflective way. It will tell you about my work as a book developer, the Writing from the Deeper Self approach, and what draws potential writers to make use of my services. More importantly, it will tell you some valuable things about yourself.

And these will help you take the exciting, profoundly healing step of engaging me to help you write a book from your deeper Self.

I know that many websites give you an action plan, in bulleted form, so you can get a quick scan of what’s involved, how the service will help you, and whether to click onto the "Contact Me" page. I would love to offer you that—I’m sure your time is precious—but book development, and Writing from the Deeper Self, itself, tends to be a slow, reflective process rather than a rapid-fire action-plan-based offering.

So if you will allow yourself to read in a nourishing way, noting what speaks to you, what makes an impression, and what inside you is called forth in response to what you read, you will get a much truer sense of who I am, what I do, whether I might be of service to you, and—perhaps most importantly—who you are and what you may discover and bring forth in your writing.

Writing from the Deeper Self offers a way to make contact with the place inside you that already knows what is real and beautiful within, and to bring this deeper knowing into written form in a way that is uniquely yours. When you write from the Deeper Self, you can taste what you are in touch with in a live, immediate way, so that you no longer require the approval of others to tell you when you are writing "well." You come to trust yourself, your own creative pathways, and your ability to regain your internal writing balance and inspiration when doubt, confusion, distraction, despair, and other common Self-denying obstacles lead you astray.

You Don’t Need to "Have It All Together"

No matter where you are in the process of writing a book, I can guide you from the first urge to create all the way through to completion, and anywhere in between. You don’t need to have it all in place before beginning (in fact, you can’t!). You don’t need an outline. You don’t need to know everything ahead of time. You only need to know how to listen to what comes as it comes, how to find the threads that connect them into a meaningful whole, and how to discover the shape of the writing as it reveals itself to you along the way. Then, all sorts of hidden places inside you spring to life in eager cooperation, offering memories, images, the thread of continuity that underpins your real story.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM WORKING WITH ME

You will write your book, and learn to love the process.
You will discover great treasures inside you, and find ways to express them that fit who you are.
You will have a sacred place in which to honor your writing, and learn to remember to find that place on your own.
You will come into your own as an artist and creator, as well as an adept communicator about your subject.
You will learn to "think in chapters" and see your own evolving story as a sacred book.

You will--with your cooperation and deep commitment--complete a book that you are proud to give to the world as a gift.
And afterwards, you may explore options for publication, including book proposals, query letters, agents and publishers, self-publishing, and book promotion.
